Join us for 5 nights and 6 days in this intimate insider view of Christmas in Germany. Stay in your own apartment for 2 with breathtaking views to the Elbe River and Martin Lutheran Church.

Christmas Markets

We will visit one of Germany's oldest Christmas markets, this a traditional event going back more than half a millennium. The market, which has been known as the Striezelmarkt since the late Middle Ages, is named after a traditional cake, the 'Striezel', which developed into what is now called the Dresden Christstollen. At the Striezelmarkt age-old traditions come to life, especially as the most famous Christmas crafts for which Germany is famous originate from the area around Dresden: carved wooden products from the Erzgebirge Mountains, gingerbread from Pulsnitz (aka "Pfefferkuchenstadt"), filigree lace from Plauen, Advent stars from Herrnhut. The focal point of the market is the world's biggest Christmas pyramid, with a record-breaking height of 14 meters (46 feet).

Castle Konigstein

Conquer "Konigstein" with us like the old knights did in the middle ages. Festung Konigstein (Konigstein Fortress) is a unique monument to the art of European fortress construction. Its 750 years' history have made it an impressive configuration. Konigstein is the biggest castle in Europe - with more than 5577 feet of walls around of it.

German Christmas Specialties

Certain German Christmas specialties are only served in the cozy advent time. Coziness is a word that you will feel a lot in Germany around this season. In German it's called: Gemuetlich. When Germans start to celebrate the Christmas season it is very "Gemuetlich". Something you will never forget!

Advent in Germany

The season begins with the first Sunday of December and the placing of the Advent wreath. One red candle is placed in the wreath on each of the four Sundays preceding Christmas, usually accompanied by singing. Music is in the air - you will hear traditional Christmas music everywhere.

"Frauenkirche" - The Church of our Lady

We will visit the "Frauenkirche", Dresden's miracle, that is one of most celebrated architectural and historical landmarks of Germany.
